GENERAL GUIDELINES FOR STARTING PARA MEDICAL
COLLEGE / INSTITUTION |
Any
registered body/society registered under Co-operative
/ Society Act of Karnataka can apply for sanction
of para medical college/institution in Karnataka.
However, preference can be given to the institutions
which are already running Educational Institutions.
The college/institution should strictly follow
the guidelines, rules and regulations framed by
the Board from time to time with respect to selection
of candidates, eligibility, age, duration of the
course, syllabus, and scheme of examinations.
APPLICATION FORM AND SYLLABUS
Application form and syllabus can be obtained
from the office of the Para Medical Board on payment
of Rs. 500 per application together a copy of
syllabus of the intended Diploma Course. D.D.
payable in favour of 'Chairman, Para Medical
Board'.
SUBMISSION OF PROPOSALS
The application obtained shall be filled in complete
manner and shall be submitted in the form of booklet
to the Board in triplicate accompanying the relevant
copies of documents.
INSPECTION FEE
Application should accompany a D.D. for Rs. 15,000/-
(Rupees Ten Thousand only) per course payable
in favour of the Chairman, Para Medical Board towards inspection fee.
BANK GUARANTEE
The
college / institution shall furnish a bank guarantee
of Rs. 2.50 lakhs (Rupees Two lakhs fifty thousand
only) per course and accompanied by application.
AFFILIATION
FEE
The college/institution shall pay Rs. 30,000/-
(Rupees Thirty thousand only) per course as affiliation
fee in the form of D.D. payable to the Chairman,
Para Medical Board before the commencement of
college/course. However, the affiliation fee for
Govt. Institution running any para medical course
shall be Rs. 1000/- per course.
OR
The college / institution can furnish an undertaking
on Rs. 50/- judicial stamp paper to the effect
that the bank guarantee shall be furnished and
affiliation fee shall be paid after getting sanction
from the Govt., but before commencement of the
college / course.
AFFILIATION RENEWAL FEE
The college/institution shall pay Rs. 10,000/-
(Rupees Ten thousand only) per course every year
as Affiliation Renewal fee.
INFRASTRUCTURE FACILITIES
The required infrastructure such as building,
teaching and other staff, library, laboratory,
equipments etc., for each of the course is given
separately. Infrastructure facilities should be
made available at the time of inspection for physical
verification.
INSPECTION
Subject
Expert Committee headed by a Medical faculty of
the course concerned shall inspect the Institution
and submit the report duly recommending the course/s
with intake.
ADMISSION OF CANDIDATES
The Institution / College after obtaining sanction
from the Govt. shall admit the candidates for
para medical course/s sanctioned to them duly
furnishing bank guarantee and paying affiliation
fee to the Board. The no. of students to be admitted
to each course shall be strictly as per the Govt.
order.
RESERVATION OF THE GOVT. QUOTA SEATS
20% of sanctioned seats shall be reserved as Govt.
quota and to be filled by the Board. If these
seats are not filled by the Board within stipulated
period, then these seats are open to the management
and can be filled by the management themselves
after obtaining permission from the Board.
REGISTRATION FORMS
The list of the admitted candidates for each course
shall be submitted to the Para Medical Board with
registration forms and originals of the qualifying
examination within the stipulated period for approval
of the Board, along with registration fee of Rs.
500/- per candidate.
TUITION FEE
The total fee to be collected by the Private Institution
for management seats and Govt. quota seats shall
be as per Govt. Orders.
Similarly, in Govt. Institutions, total fee is
also as per Govt.Orders.
CALENDAR OF EVENTS
The calendar of events issued by the Board every
year should be strictly followed and courses should
run accordingly.
ENHANCEMENT OF INTAKE
In the first instant maximum of 20 students for
any Para Medical Course is granted except Dental
Mechanic and Dental Hygienist Courses for which
intake will be 10% of BDS seats.
However, the college/institution desires enhancement
of seats could be considered only after outgoing
of first batch of students as well as considering
the performance of the College/Institution.
