ABOUT PARA MEDICAL BOARD |
OBJECTIVES
The objectives of the Para Medical Courses is to
ensure the scientific training during the course
of study, thus the trainee acquires adequate knowledge
and skill in his/her field and he/she shall be able
to carry out:
a.
Various laboratory tests independently without an
error, perform, investigative or curative procedures
with accuracy and precision as a responsible professional
and thereby assist the clinicians in diagnosis and
treatment.
b.
Manage laboratories or units confidently with adequate
knowledge to handle, operate and take care of various
equipments, instruments and materials used.
c.
Develop initiative and competence in order to avail
self employment opportunities.
d.
Develop expertise to perform various tests and to
interpret the results.
e.
Fulfill the need of qualified manpower and well-trained
para medical personnel who will contribute a lot
to Health Care services and Patient care system.
f.
The successful candidates after the period of training
will become eligible for appointment as Technicians
or Assistants in various departments of Medical
/ Dental College, Hospitals, Primary Health Centers,
Clinical Laboratories at district and taluk level,
Nursing Homes and also in other schemes of National
Health Programmes. The Para Medical Courses provide
great employment opportunities and also ensures
the availability of sufficient number of qualified
and trained Para Medical Personnel for the upliftment
of a good Health Care System.
SELECTION OF CANDIDATES |
Selection of candidates shall be made through Central
Counselling to be held every year between August
and October to the seats in Four Government Medical
colleges, Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospital and Govt.
Dental College, Bangalore as well as Govt. quota
seats in private para medical colleges/institutions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION PRESCRIBED FOR ADMISSION
The minimum qualification prescribed for admission
to the above courses shall be a pass in II PUC with
Science subjects PCB., PCMB., CBZ., except for Diploma
in Medical Records Technology for which minimum
qualification would be II PUC with any optional
subjects such as Science/Arts/Commerce. Those trained
in English Typing or in basic Computer knowledge
will be given preference.
If sufficient candidates who have passed with PUC
science subjects are not available, the candidates
with S.S.L.C. qualification could be admitted to
the above courses except courses mentioned in Sl.
No. 7 to 10.
The candidates admitted to any Para Medical Course
either in Government or Private Institutions are
not paid stipend, freeship or scholarship.
There shall be no commitment on the part of the
State Government or Para Medical Board to provide
job to the candidates who have successfully completed
the course.
AGE LIMIT FOR ADMISSION
The candidate should have attained the minimum age
of 15 years as on 31st December prior to the year
of admission. Upper age limit would be 35 years.
In case of Inservice, SC & ST candidates upper
age limit would be 40 years.
ADMISSION
The selected candidates should get him / herself
admitted to the respective college / institution
and course duly furnished originals of certificates
of qualifying examinations duly paying prescribed
fee.
DRESS CODE
The admitted candidates have been prescribed the
following dress code:
Light Blue apron with Identity badge.
Common for both boys and girls.
The Board is empowered to prescribe the dress code
from time to time.
